50th Reunion - Remember When...
Enjoy the "Remember When..." theme for our 50th reunion celebration and put on your thinking caps for some great memories. We will award several prizes for the best remembrances. Here are some suggestions to bring memories to mind. Come prepared to share your own "Remember When..." memories.
Remember When...

- Ricky Nelson was every teeny bopper's heart throb
- The girls wore bobby socks and were thought to be "tough"
- Rawhide's Rowdy Yates became "the" Clint Eastwood
- We were forbidden to walk on the grass on the campus
- We paused after singing the Alma Mater as a show of respect
- Jimmy Dean and Elvis Presley were rebels

- Rock & Roll was thought to be a manifestation of evil
- "Psycho" premiered at the Smoot Theater
- Chubby Checker started a new dance craze "The Twist"
- The girls wore bloomers in gym class
- Life expectancy was 69.7 years
- We were required to have a "time out" after lunch called Home Room
- Soviet missiles shot down Francis Gary Power's A-2 spy plane
- Gasoline was $.25 cents per gallon, a new home was $12,500 and a postage stamp was 4 cents
Remember When...
- Pantyhose and Barbie dolls were introduced to U.S. consumers
- The first house with a bomb shelter was built
- The Pittsburgh Pirates won the World Series
- We experienced our first date and, if we were lucky enough, our first kiss
- The boys wore pegged pants, had flattop haircuts and duck tails (DA's)
- Thespian Troupe 264 presented "The Solid Gold Cadillac"
- The Square Dance Club participated in the Sports Carnival, dancing to "Coney Island Washboard"
- The A Cappella Choir's revue was called "Hulaskapades" in honor of our 49th and 50th states
Remember When...
- The Big Red Band, clad in Red and White, marched down the field and the pride we felt for "the best band in the land"
- 128 of us worked the concession stand raising money for Senior Class parties and a gift to the school
- "Gidget" was our Senior Class play
