Larry thanks for the updates on the BIG REDS. I agree with you in trying to get some interest in getting to know each other again as we all have been out of school for 41
years now. Most have left P/burg as I did only I use to come back 2 or 3 times a year but now that I have my Mother
living with me and my Dad Died
in 1982 I dont go to P/burg that often. My Mother takes a
lot of my time after she had her stroke and was able to take care of herself.
I talk with some by email and we chat about old times and how fast the time has gone as
we become older. I like sports
and gun collecting and many other activities, maybe someone else can come up with
what is going on in their lives also. Since my Wife Died
I just dont do the things we use to do together like going to the Mountains and traveling
a lot. Take care and hope someone else will join in.
God bless.....Gary

Yes, it does feel safe in the confines of the Ohio valley. Yet we do have the chem plants, river and train traffic. I still better about the situation living here than I would have felt if I were still in the DC area.
Regular football season is over. PHS finihed at 8 / 2. Play Hampshire County at home on Saturday, Nov 10. If you are interested, you may try listening to the game at www.phsfootball.com. I have not tried this but as I will be out of town this week I think I will give it a try.
It would be nice to start some type of chain discussion here to get reacquainted with old friends. What types of topics could we discuss? Any interest?

Alice as I was reading your message about our Jet planes
flying over head to protect us all and with you being in
Virginia and with myself being
in Jacksonville Florida where
we have several bases, Mayport
Base is for Navy Ship's and
we have NAS, Navial Air Station with Jet's flying every minute of the Day and night. I also live not too far
from the Sub base in Georgia
and we also have Air National
Guard here, we have a training
Camp for all military unit's
so yes it is a good feeling of
knowing we have those younger
men and women protecting us
everywhere. I thank God everyday for this country and
the beauty she hold's within but I also want to keep it that way, only we find now we are very vulnerable to every enemy attack as we seen happen in New York and Washington.
We as American's have come closer together in this tragedy and yes we will overcome this with standing tall and waving our AMERICAN flag with giving thank's to God in allowing us to have a free country again.
Please stay safe to all and
May God Bless this Country
and watch over our Military
and the leader's of this Country. Continue to pray for
this Country. God Bless our
Country and take a moment in
rememberence of those that Died from this tragedy.

Hi All,
I'm thinking of everyone and hoping all and their loved ones are okay. There's a lot of activity here, as you can imagine, and I've never been so happy to hear the jets roaring overhead as I am now! A lot of my students (adults) are being deployed in the various armed forces, especially the Navy. We're all pulling together and I'm thinking of Parkersburg cozily nestled in the Ohio River Valley, and it seems so snug! Stay safe everyone, and please, share your thoughts and experiences! Love, Alice

I was just sitting here today looking at our reunion pics and was thinking about the 60's. So many changes in our lives yet so much remains the same.
I was also wanting to send my sympathy to any of you who have had loved ones, friends or acquaintances involved in this past week's tragedy.
We as Americans will get through this and will somehow survive it. We are strong and united.
Please offer your prayers for all of us, our nation, our military and our President as he tries to successfully lead us through.
All of us who have family actively involved in the Military Service of our country need to pray even harder for their safety.
Stay safe, remember one another in this trying time.
Love and Prayers to all of you.

Well it's football season again and PHS is ranked # 1 among the AAA schools in the state. Just returned from Moundsville where the Big Reds faced # 4 ranked John Marshall. It was one of the best games that I have ever seen at any level. The Monarchs QB is rated as one of the best in the state and the PHS QB, Marc Kimes is right up there with him. after trailing by 9 points in the 4th quarter the Big Reds pulled it out with a 26 - 22 victory. They are now 3 - 0. They play arch-rival P-burg South on Sept 21 on South's field. South is also 3 - 0 but they play a weaker schedule.
For those of you who do not keep in touch, there was a major upheaval in the PHS football program after the first game. Coach Marshall Burdette was accused of sexual miscondut, inapprpriately touching a male student. He immediately resigned and was replace on an interim basis by 28 YO Craig Farnsworth. Very little is being made public on this issue.

Classmates - Does anyone remember any old funny stories of things that happened while attending PHS? Remember when we use to fill the auditorium during home room period to watch all those old black/white movies? I can't remember the cost, but seems like ten-cents? Would love to hear of some more old memories from others!!

I feel guilty posting my news today when I see that one our classmates has passed away. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Carolyn Jane WOLFE Banfield.
My original post was that you may now address me by my official title "Grandpa Butch". Our older son Kevin and his wife Kelly had a beautiful baby daughter last Tuesday. Connie and I are thrilled! Alexis Elizabeth Barry is our first grandchild and I hope we have many more to spoil.
I look forward to seeing the new messages on our PHS site and hope more and more people will start communicating.
Hope you have a great day

Thanks Larry for the comment
about People not signing the
Guestbook to bring everyone up
to Date on what is Happining in their Lives. I Like coming
here to see what other's are
doing and Today Jan 30,01 when
Visiting I find out we have Lost another Class Mate. this
is one reason I wish People would continue to Post even a
Short message just to say they
are doing fine. we all are getting older and none of us
will be here forever plus Sharon and Mary worked very hard to get this Web Site up
and running for us all so let's show them how much we appreciate their fine work and
let us all stay in touch more
often and not let another 40
Year's go by Before we realize
none of us are left. Thank's
and God Bless- Gary

Recently some of you have tried to access our web site and have been asked to provide a username and password.
